Today’s prompt was to write about a gift that someone had given to you. Wrote a tanka on a coupon book my little sister made me – I’m still waiting to redeem that free basketball game she owes me.
With empty pockets,
Squiggle edged scissors, some yarn
And teal card stock, she
Crafted with no expiry
One-of-a-kind coupon book
Ha, ha. Isn’t that the first mistake they make? Wife had given me a coupon book years ago with no expiration date. I think I can find it, if I look hard enough, maybe I can still cash it in. Sweet poem.
