Troubles Down Under

Today’s prompt is to name my alter-ago then write about itself in detail. This one took some thinking, but I wrote a short ghazal from the perspective of a koala.

Where is my home? It was among these trees just yesterday
How I must attend to these eucalypti, they wilted from the gust yesterday

Today, I shall indiscriminately chase the rainbow
Did I hallucinate or was there was a sprinkling of dust yesterday?

Oof, there were innumerable burdocks colonizing my fur
But how? I found myself quite nonplussed yesterday

And remember how my paw was engulfed in quicksand
After that debacle I had nothing but mistrust yesterday

You see Rushil, all I wanted was to dawdle about
but this darned forest forced me to adjust yesterday.
